My favourite commercial interior space.

 

                 Van Cleef & Arpels Jewellery Boutique. New York, N.Y.

I was drawn to this space because although it is a commercial interior it still evokes an intimacy that I enjoy. I also like the mix of antique with new designs. The Jouin Manku Studio refurbished the two-storey shopping space into a luminous three level showcase. The ground floor is the main showroom, while the mezzanine is outfitted with a library. On the top floor is a room reserved for parties and presentations to VIP clients. As you go up the spaces feel more private.

 Patrick Jouin and Sanjit Manku of Jouin Manku Studio, the design team responsible for an array of the brand’s recent retail projects, among them the refurbished boutique on Paris’s Place Vendôme. For the New York outpost, which reopened in December, the duo expanded the existing two-story shopping space into a luminous three-level showcase.
